My Gerry

Amen to what you have just said in  'My Dad', Jane.  He was absolutely everything you have just said.

I couldn't have been luckier - he was always so kind to everyone, his thoughtfulness was just amazing, thinking of what others might want even before they did. He was gentle but always good fun, such a good friend to me always and his intelligence and memory and ability to articulate were incredible. Always thinking even when he didn't express it.  He seemed almost a bottomless pit of knowledge and I knew I could always get the answer from him if I didn't know it.
We both loved our travels and many adventures together but both felt we had landed in a little paradise when we came and settled in these beautiful green valleys and started our endless walking together and often with Jane too when she was home,  over the hills and up the valleys.  He was such a good companion.

He also put so much energy and so many self taught skills into creating our home and gardens, building a new kitchen for  us for when Jane and I returned  from Australia once as well as all the shelving and wardrobes, building a beautiful Sindy dolIs house for Jane,  a  majestic many towered Castle complete with a moat and spiral staircases for his adored Alex and which in turn his  Darcey could share.  I will be posting pictures of both.
I couldn't have loved him more for the lovely person he was and will never stop doing so.  It makes it very painful to lose him.
